Class Tree

Room 18 has a... Class Tree. It consists of every student in Room 18, we had a student from Room18
draw the tree and others helped to cut it out. Then our teacher laminated our pictures and stapled it to the tree. We added leaves and now it looks like a real tree. Here is a photo of the tree.

Library Sessions

On Mondays every week, Room 18 goes to the School Library. In this time we get to choose books that interest us, read books and also issue books. The maximum books are 4 but we get around 2-3 books weekly. Some kids like bulky chapter books while others prefer a decent size book or maybe a graphic novel and that's what makes each one of us different. Here are some photos of us in the library.

Year 8 Performing Arts

For technology in Term 2, the Year 8's had Performing Arts. Our teacher was Mrs Taloa and she helped us with our Performance. Everyone had different roles in the performance and it was really funny because we had to change our voices to make us sound like the character and we really enjoyed acting.

Year 7 Fabric Tech

For technology in Term 2, the Year 7's had Fabric. Our teacher was Mrs Nicholls and she taught us how to make a tivaevae pattern. We had to make one based on something that had a sense of belonging to us. We used various stitches in our design including a back stitch, a running stitch, a blanket stitch and some of us  managed to make a chain stitch. Everyone had fun making the tivaevae patterns and the we really enjoyed it.

Kids Can Fun Run

On Friday the 28th June 2019, Our School had the Kids Can Fun Run. Every syndicate had different sports to chose from Rugby, Handball, Basketball, Two-legged Races and Table Tennis. Our teacher took Two legged Races. Everyone enjoyed being outside and playing fun sports activities. Thank you Kids Can!!

Our Class STEAM

Our class STEAM Project is Popsicle Stick Catapult.
We made it using Some Popsicle sicks, a few rubber bands and a bottle cap. We used tape to keep  the bottle cap in place, but if you have a glue gun you can use that as well. The catapult was first invented because of a Greek man called Dionysius the Elder who wanted to create a new weapon and therefore created a catapult in the 400BC.
