Duffy Books
On the 24th of September, we had a Duffy Books Assembly. We had people come from Latitude Finance. We got free books from them. About 2 weeks before, we got to chose what we wanted and then we got 2 from our options.

SPCA
A few weeks ago, we had a few kids have the opportunity to participate in the SPCA competition. From Our Class, we had Aneeta, Aahana, Charlotte, and Sukhman. After a week, they got bookmarks from SPCA saying thank you for their Kind Matters entry.

Character Parade
On Friday the 6th of September we had the 2019 character parade! We all got dressed up as different characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Everbody who had dressed up got up in lines and performed a little dance! Prix got a prize of best dressed. We were all so proud of him. Ka Pai Prix!

Tag Rugby
Since Last Week, every Thursdays Room 18 and Room 25 were excited and privileged to have a few members of Auckland Rugby come and teach us Rugby. We had a fun time doing drills and playing games related to rugby for practise and playing the game as well.

Winners Again....
Our class got best decorated class award. We were really proud that all of our hard work payed off. We won three games: Jenga, Snakes and Ladders and Uno! Thank you Mrs Raymond for buying and organizing all of our decorations and stuff. You Deserved This Room 18!

General Knowledge Quiz
Last week Friday our school had the General Knowledge Quiz. Aneeta and Dominic Participated in this competition. It was really interesting to watch as well. Good Job Both Of You!

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
Our class had an amazing decor/display! We had a plethora of golden tickets stuck up and many posters about our favourite books,authors and characters! Our door had also been decorated with lollipops and tickets and hats! It looked like a wonderful candy land! We would like to thank Mrs Raymond for organising this all. We are now striving for the best decorated classroom!

Rugby Practise
On Thursday, we had our first rugby practise. We were paired up with Rm 25. The Boys and Girls were split up and taught by different coaches. The Girls' coach was Ketaki ( Kay) and the Boys' was Abby. It was fun because we had a few drills and games.

Daffodil Day
"It's not how much money we give, It's how much love and hope we are putting in to give"
On the 30th of August it was daffodil day! We all got daffodils, some we bough by ourselves and some our lovely teacher, Mrs Raymond gave us. We're all doing this to make a difference for the cancer society.

Library Display
On Monday, we went for our normal Library Sessions. For Book Week, the library was full of displays. There were some horror displays based on horror books like Goosebumps that looked amazing. There were also some flower displays based on Alice in Wonderland that were so pretty and looked like it took a lot of effort, which really payed off.

Sports Camp
We were grateful to have Rikki, Calix, Grace and Leitu go to Sports Camp. They ranked 3rd place out of 9 Schools. After they came back from a week full of competitions and fun, they came back and performed in front of the school at assembly.

Speech Competition
This term we had our speech semi-finals. There were two students for our class, Aahana & Prix!
Prix said a speech on Deforestation. Aahana did a speech on The Negative Footprint Left By Humans.
Prix got 3rd place in our syndicate (Ururangi) Great job to both of you!
Book Week Author Visit
On Thursday, Week 7 we were privileged to have an American Poet, Carrie rudzinski come and talk to us and share some of her amazing poetry. She is very inspirational and kind and we were honoured to have her come to our school. She is currently ranked 4th in the world for her poetry and she is a talented poet and we were very happy to have her at Papatoetoe Intermediate

Buddy Reading
On Monday, Week 7, we had a buddy reading session with our neighbouring class, Room 17. We got a partner from the opposite class and we had to read to them and discuss our book to them.
